BUDGET BEDROOM RE-DO

I'm in the process of re-doing the bedrooms because it's the time of year/it's been 6 months and HGTV has given me a lot of ideas and I want to put them to work.

Now I know people say, "I'm on a budget" and their budget is $1000. Let me keep it real with you on how much of budget I'm on:

I'm on a, "Thank God I'm cleaning out my storage so I can find some old things to paint and also I'm curb surfing in the neighborhood making Macklemore and Ryan Lewis proud to find some mint condition furniture that I can repaint and add hardware to," budget. Basically a budget with a cape.

Dear neighbor, thanks for throwing out your desk. It's going to be an awesome bar cart. (Image via Instagram)
Pinterest has continued to be great for inspiration. With pins Apartment TherapyA Beautiful Mess, Rue Magazine and others, ideas have been overflowing and I feel like I need to calm down the pinning; however, I will not.

In this process, I'm looking to create a headboard, reform a distressed dresser, and maximize really small space to its full potential without the clutter.

I never thought of using a peg board as a headboard, but it adds a cool element to the room. Also, you can change what's hanging on the begs without needing to do an overall redo the next time you want to remodel.

I do love the random color here. Easily buy a sample size paint from Lowes or Home Depot and you have your color. Question: can you use craft paint? I'm asking for a friend...yeah.

Love this black accent wall, don't you?

I'm not a fan of the colors of that desk but hey, it was free and I know paint is the answer for a lot of things. I like that green isn't a color when you think of when you think of "bar carts," but it works here. Still thinking of color combos myself, because that blue and the gray speckle of the desk have to change, stat.

Until next time,
