As of Late

A week-long roller coaster, but there are always highlights.

First and foremost:

#Enough

Watching the students of Parkland lead a movement for gun control is inspiring.

One, they took the pain of their tragedy and raised their voices.

Two, these students have invited the voices of those who have been silenced and ignored (POC who have called for gun control long before Parkland) to speak at Saturday's March for Our Lives.

I'm obsessed with the strength and organization because it's a sign of hope for the future. While Baby Boomers and Millenials are going at it, Gens Y& Z are taking the charge in their own hands.

Naomi Wadler is 11 and well spoken.

Personally, I hate the two-party political system. I definitely don't fit into one, and I'm barely hanging on in the other. My belief: these students and much like them will start breaking that system. I'm totes excited.

Emma Gonzalez got DC to be silent, remembering the lives of the 17 victims. Her silence was powerful.

The media has long ignored the fight for gun control from "urban" communities, because how will they continue their school to prison pipeline but these students knew better, used their privilege giving them a platform to elevate their voice and called them out.

The Four Agreements

Be impeccable with your word.
Don't take anything personally.
Don't make assumptions.
Always do your best.

If you haven't read it, it's a must. We live in a world where we're hard on ourselves. It is what it is, but we can change what we say and what we think by giving ourselves grace. I'll delve into this a lot later, but I'm actively working on not beating myself up daily and overall being kinder with my words towards myself and others (stop laughing).

Client Launch

Over at FIVE12 STUDIO, I've been a busy bee working on and transitioning my business and making some tweaks. In the midst of that craziness, I'm happy to launch a new website design for a deserving and amazing person, Lucy Dazilma, for her site: Lucy's Pearls.

This week's focus:

Be positive. Even when things seem like crap, there's light to be found.
